What is this Twlight buzz?

The Twilight series is a books series by author Stephanie Meyer, and revolves around fantasy, lust, and adventure. The books have caught like wildfire in the past 3 years, creating a book sensation similar to that of Rowling’s Harry Potter series. The first novel spent over 91 weeks on the New York Times Bestseller List, and there are planned film adaptations for all the books in the series. The books are about the protagonist, Bella, and her romantic story with a vampire. The second book in the series, New Moon, has a film adaptation that released this past week.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon, is the talk of the town at the very moment. The film is directed by Chris Weitz, and stars heartthrobs Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner as they return to action in their previous roles from the first film. The film was released on November 20, 2009, in the United States to some incredible opening numbers. The film broke the domestic box office records as the biggest midnight screening and opening day in history, which was previously held by The Dark Knight for grossing $67.2 million. The New Moon grossed around $72.7 million in its first day of release.

The film has gotten good reviews from majority of the critics and the fans out there. The franchise is planning on releasing the third installment in the Twilight series, Eclipse, on June 30th of 2010. Eclipse will be the adaptation of the third novel in the Twilight fantasy series. If this second installment was any indication to how popular The Twilight series films are, one can only expect the next film to be just as big.
