Moms – are you looking for a simple but powerful way to celebrate Earth Day (it’s Wednesday, April 22nd)with your kids – and one that doesn’t cost a lot of money, require planting a tree or taking care of a vegetable garden? Well, here’s one. We blogged about it on GirlMogul Magazine too, and here’s the summary.
Today, ask your kids to save all of the “garbage” from their lunch – from juice boxes to paper napkins, to plastic baggies. Look through it tonight and see what’s easily recyclable, or will breakdown easily – bet you’ll all be surprised at how much garbage a packed lunch produces.
Now for your Earth Day Challenge – On Wednesday pack a garbage-less lunch. Use recyclable containers for snacks, a thermos for drinks, a cloth napkin, even real silverware. See how small your lunch footprint can be.
Have fun and for more great ways to celebrate Earth Day, check out the official site – EarthDay Net.
